
USC’s athletic director seems to be expecting that their football team will play Alabama in their season opener in September.
A report last week said that the USC-Bama game would not be happening, but that was somewhat loosely sourced.
Mike Bohn, who is USC’s athletic director, spoke in an interview set up by West Coast Sports Associates. According to USC reporter Ryan Kartje, Bohn said “the odds are in our favor” regarding the game.
Mike Bohn, in a Zoom interview with Pepperdine, said that “the odds are in our favor” as far as playing the USC-Alabama game as scheduled.

The game is scheduled for Sept. 5 in Arlington, Texas and would be a neutral-site game.
Despite the reports, both athletic directors have said they are expecting to play.

His response: “Our plan is to play USC.”

California’s governor is starting to open up the economy and has said pro sports can resume in June without fans. These developments could make it more likely that a season takes place. In general, there has been increased optimism about college football being played in the fall.
