The family of Karmelo Anthony has moved into a gated community in Frisco, Texas, according to a new report.
The Daily Mail published a report on Tuesday regarding Anthony’s family. The report says Anthony’s family is now renting a home in Frisco, Texas, at a gated community and that they have moved locations for safety concerns. Their reporting says a neighbor told them the family had purchased a new car as well.
Anthony’s attorney defended the family’s choice to move to a home in a gated community.

“There’s been a tremendous amount of pressure. I think at this point, living in a gated community, given everything, the safety of their younger children is very warranted. Security details and criminal defense are not cheap,” Anthony’s attorney has said.
Anthony is facing charges of first-degree murder for fatally stabbing fellow 17-year-old Austin Metcalf in the chest following an altercation between them at a high school track meet in Frisco. Anthony’s defense team successfully had his $1 million bond reduced to $250,000. Anthony is home with his family on house arrest and wearing an ankle monitor.
An online fundraiser for Anthony has raised over $400,000. Anthony’s father has said that he plans to use that money to fund his son’s legal defense.
A police report has said that Anthony admitted to stabbing Metcalf during their April 2 altercation. The police affidavit says Metcalf told Anthony to move from his spot under a tent intended for Metcalf’s track and field team. In response, Anthony reportedly said to Metcalf, “Touch me and see what happens.”
Metcalf reportedly then touched Anthony. Anthony reportedly then told Metcalf to punch him and see what would happen.
After Metcalf grabbed Anthony, Anthony then pulled out a knife and stabbed Metcalf in the heart. Metcalf died at the scene, while Anthony ran away and left the knife in the bleachers. The knife was later recovered.
