David Wilson will be fantasy stud after strong preseason
David Wilson will be a fantasy stud for the New York Giants this season.
Wilson was looking like the favorite to lead the Giants in carries after putting together an impressive preseason, and his role on the team increased after news of Andre Brown’s leg injury emerged. Brown fractured his leg during Thursday’s preseason finale against the New England Patriots. It’s the same leg he fractured last year. There is no word on how much time Brown will be out, but it’s safe to assume Wilson will be the team’s primary back.
Wilson was a first-round pick last year and carried the ball 71 times for 358 yards and 4 touchdowns. He also scored a receiving touchdown and return touchdown on a kickoff. He is the type of playmaker that is capable of taking one to the house at all times.
Wilson surprisingly saw playing time on Thursday and rushed for 37 yards on six carries. He also caught one pass for four yards. Wilson had a breakout game in Week 3 of the preseason when he rushed for 92 yards on five carries, including an 84-yard score. The Virginia Tech product finishes the preseason with 24 carries for 179 yards and one touchdown. He added seven catches for 31 yards.
If your fantasy league hasn’t drafted yet, make sure you bump Wilson up your chart.
