What has already been a roller coaster season for Miami Dolphins running back Knowshon Moreno officially ended on Tuesday, as the team announced he suffered a torn ACL during Sunday’s game against the Green Bay Packers and will undergo season-ending surgery.
After a very impressive showing in Week 1, Moreno dislocated his elbow and missed several weeks. He recovered quickly only to leave Sunday’s game with a knee injury that didn’t seem that severe until Tuesday. As a result, Lamar Miller will now have Miami’s backfield all to himself.
The Dolphins typically like using a committee approach, but they really don’t have any options beyond Moreno and Miller. Miller averaged 5.6 yards per carry and scored two touchdowns while handling the full load in Moreno’s first absence. He has also fumbled a few times, which could cut into his fantasy football stock if Joe Philbin starts punishing him for it.

For now, Miller should be a rock-solid fantasy option as Miami’s clear-cut best runner. We wish Moreno a speedy recovery after what was an incredibly unlucky season.
