Matt Breida suffered an ankle injury during the San Francisco 49ers’ loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, but it’s too early to rule him out for Week 6.
X-rays on Breida’s ankle were negative, according to NBC Sports’ Matt Maiocco. He reports that the team has hope Breida will be able to play in the team’s Week 6 game against the Green Bay Packers.

Breida had 56 yards on 8 carries before exiting against Arizona. He entered the game with 398 total yards and was averaging an absurd 7.6 yards per carry.
Alfred Morris received the bulk of the carries following Breida’s injury. He would likely continue to see an increased workload if Breida were unavailable.
