Aaron Rodgers dealing with new injury
Aaron Rodgers has been banged up over the last few weeks, and the New York Jets quarterback is dealing with a new injury heading into Week 8.
Jets interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich told reporters on Wednesday that Rodgers played through a hamstring issue during Sunday night’s 37-15 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers. Ulbrich said he does not anticipate the injury impacting Rodgers’ availability for Week 8 against the New England Patriots. However, the coach said there were some plays in the Pittsburgh game where Rodgers may have been less mobile than usual.
“It is new, something that kind of flared up this past game. So, they’re gonna assess it all week long and he’s gonna treat his butt off like he always does,” Ulbrich said. “I don’t anticipate this affecting him in playing.”

In addition the hamstring, Rodgers has also had injuries to both knees and his ankle. The minor ailments have piled up for the 40-year-old quarterback over the first seven weeks of the season, though Rodgers has mostly downplayed them.
The Jets fell to 2-5 with their loss to the Steelers. Davante Adams had just 3 catches for 30 yards in his first game with the Jets after being traded to New York by the Las Vegas Raiders. Between Adams, Garrett Wilson, Allen Lazard and Breece Hall, the Jets have more than enough weapons on offense. But if Rodgers is playing at less than full strength, that could have a negative impact on the team.
