Abdul Carter has faced some injury questions leading up to the NFL Draft, but the latest update for the former Penn State star was a positive one.

Carter underwent tests in February that revealed he has a stress reaction in his right foot. That led to him meeting with specialists to determine if he would need to undergo surgery.

On Thursday, Carter had his foot examined again by medical experts in Indianapolis. The tests showed that the stress reaction is healing, so doctors are not recommending surgery.

Carter’s agent, Drew Rosenhaus, told Adam Schefter of ESPN that he believes the foot injury is a “non-factor with the teams at this point.”

Carter is arguably the best prospect in the 2025 draft class. It would be a shock if he is not selected within one of the first four picks. The latest news about his foot should solidify his status.

Carter was a stud during his three seasons in college at Penn State and was named a unanimous All-American as well as the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year in 2024. The 6-foot-3, 259-pound defender had 12.0 sacks and a Division I-leading 24 tackles for loss last season.
