Adrian Peterson landed on injury report after swallowing chewing tobacco
Adrian Peterson was a surprise late addition to the injury report this week, and you won’t believe the reason why.
As ESPN’s Kevin Seifert noted, the FOX broadcast team for Minnesota’s game against the Lions said Peterson was listed as questionable with an “illness” after he swallowed his chewing tobacco on the team’s flight to Detroit.
Per FOX broadcast, Adrian Peterson swallowed his chew on a bumpy team flight Saturday. Vomited upon arrival. Hence, injury report downgrade.

Not surprisingly, Peterson still got the start.
While the “illness” Peterson came down with is not unheard of, we are more accustomed to hearing these types of stories with baseball players. You can read a great example here of how a wad of chew forced team trainers to examine one MLB player.
Peterson has been known to play through injuries throughout his career. I guess swallowing a dip is no exception.
