AFC team listed as favorite to acquire Cooper Kupp in a trade
The Los Angeles Rams are open to trading Cooper Kupp, and a familiar team is favored to acquire the wide receiver.
A report earlier this week said that not only are the Rams open to a Kupp trade, but the team would also be willing to pay some of his salary in a deal.
Kupp has not played since Week 2 because of an ankle injury but was set to return for the Rams in their Week 8 game against the Vikings. The 31-year-old receiver has two years left on the 3-year, $80.1 million contract extension he signed in 2022.
According to odds posted by SportsBetting.ag, the Pittsburgh Steelers are favored to land Kupp.
Here are the odds for the teams most likely to acquire Kupp:
Steelers 4/5
Chargers 4/1
Buccaneers 6/1
Lions 7/1
Falcons 16/1
Commanders 18/1
Bills 20/1
Saints 20/1
Chiefs 25/1
The Steelers have been heavily involved in trade talks for many of the top wide receivers recently, ranging from Brandon Aiyuk to Davante Adams, but they have yet to acquire one. Kupp might just be perfect for them.
Pittsburgh is tied for the AFC North lead at 5-2 and might be willing to give Russell Wilson more weapons. Kupp is a dynamic receiver when healthy. The problem is he’s only played in 23 regular season games since 2022. He showed just how good he can be in the Rams’ Super Bowl season in 2021 when he led the NFL with 145 catches for 1,947 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Pittsburgh scored 37 points in their Week 7 win over the Jets. Wilson passed for 264 yards and two touchdowns, and helped George Pickens score his first TD of the season.
