AJ Green unlikely to return to Bengals before trade deadline
If the Cincinnati Bengals were hopeful to get wide receiver A.J. Green on the field before the trade deadline to bolster his value, it does not sound like that’s going to happen.
Green is not expected to be ready to play until after the Oct. 29 deadline, at which point the Bengals will determine how to best move forward with their star receiver, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
Green has not played during the regular season due to an ankle injury, but is said to be recovering nicely.
The veteran receiver is one of the best in the league at his position when he’s healthy. He has six 1,000-yard receiving seasons, and has hit that mark every season he’s played at least 13 games. He’s been linked to other teams in trade chatter, but the Bengals have been adamant that he won’t be moved. At this point, Cincinnati would probably be selling low.
