It may not have been intentional, but Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck dropped a fantastic Deflategate reference while speaking to reporters on Wednesday.
After Luck was selected by Cris Carter with the top overall pick in the Pro Bowl draft, he was asked about his team’s blowout loss to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game.
“The energy, you know, is sort of sucked out of you,” Luck said. “You feel deflated. … Aw shhhh…”
On second thought, there’s just no possible way that was unintentional. And if that was Luck’s way of cracking a joke, he did a phenomenal job.
We have seen plenty of interesting Deflategate reactions from current and former players, but very few NFL players have made light of the situation. Leave it to someone who was directly impacted by it to drop the best one-liner.
