Antonio Brown tells Tom Brady to win Super Bowl for him
Antonio Brown was a member of the New England Patriots organization for less than two weeks, but the star receiver already feels a strong enough connection with Tom Brady that he wants the quarterback to win a championship in his honor.
Shortly after the Patriots announced on Friday that they have released him, Brown took to Instagram to thank Bill Belichick and Tom Brady for the brief time they spent together. His hashtags in his post about Brady were “#GoWinIt” and “#DoitforMe.”
Brown also shared a photo of himself with Belichick and captioned it “appreciate ya.”
The Patriots were reportedly blindsided by Brown having a sexual assault lawsuit filed against him last week, but they stuck with him anyway. He played and scored a touchdown in their blowout win over the Miami Dolphins last week. As the NFL world waited to see if Brown would be placed on the commissioner’s exempt list, another sexual misconduct allegation came out from a woman who chose to remain anonymous. She shared screenshots of text messages earlier Friday morning that appeared to show Brown trying to intimidate her, and that was likely the last straw for the Patriots.
New England dominated the Pittsburgh Steelers 33-3 in their season opener without Brown, so they should be just fine without him.
