Ben McAdoo interviews for Jaguars offensive coordinator job

Ben McAdoo

The Jacksonville Jaguars made an unexpected change this week when they parted ways with offensive coordinator John DeFilippo after one season, and Ben McAdoo is among the candidates being considered for the vacant position.

McAdoo has interviewed with the Jaguars for their offensive coordinator job, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports.

McAdoo may not be a popular name because of his failed tenure as head coach of the Giants, but he was a successful offensive coordinator in New York before being promoted. He also worked for several seasons as an offensive assistant with the Green Bay Packers and Aaron Rodgers. McAdoo made it less than two seasons as head coach of the Giants, but the team went 11-5 and made the playoffs his first year.

The Jaguars ranked 26th in the NFL in scoring last year, and they may be trying to find someone who can do a better job with Nick Foles than DeFilippo did. While DeFilippo helped develop rookie Gardner Minshew, the Jags have invested a ton of money in Foles and still want him to be their starter.
