Cincinnati Bengals training camp has gotten off to a worrisome start.
Star wide receiver A.J. Green was carted off the practice field Saturday after injuring his lower leg in a 7-on-7 drill.

A.J. Green was participating in a 7-7 drill and came down awkwardly. He ended up leaving practice on a cart after being looked at. it was not the foot that kept him out last year, this was the lower left leg. Don’t know if it was ankle, foot or what yet. More to come.

Coach Zac Taylor didn’t have a concrete update, but seemed optimistic that Green had avoided a serious injury.
Zac Taylor on A.J. Green going down with what looked like a left foot or ankle injury. – “you don’t want to assume anything, but I think we’re going to be ok.” Said they will check him out obviously and see.

Green has a worrisome injury history, including an issue with his other foot last season. The Bengals need him, and he needs to stay healthy, so any good news is welcome here.
