Bill Belichick took part in an extremely awkward interview with CBS that aired on Sunday, and one portion of the segment raised a big question about the legendary coach’s relationship with his girlfriend Jordon Hudson.
Belichick was enthusiastic while discussing matters related to football with interviewer Tony Dokoupil, but things got a bit tense when the 73-year-old coach was asked about his 24-year-old girlfriend.
Hudson was seated right near Belichick, and CBS’s narrator described her as a “constant presence” during the interview. When Dokoupil asked how Belichick and Hudson met, Hudson sternly interrupted and said “we’re not talking about this.”

Those who know Belichick were surprised to see him taking cues from his girlfriend, who is young enough to be his granddaughter. It was also confusing that Hudson was so adamant about Belichick not answering a seemingly innocent question.
TMZ reported in September that Belichick and Hudson met when the two were on the same flight together from Boston to Florida in 2021. One of Hudson’s former classmates at Bridgewater State University shared an image of a note Belichick supposedly wrote to Hudson after the two chatted during the flight. Belichick wrote the message inside a textbook entitled “Deductive Logic” and thanked Hudson for giving him “a course” on the subject.
None of that seems embarrassing. So why did Hudson refuse to let Belichick talk about it?
Perhaps the timing of when the two met is the issue.
Belichick and his ex-girlfriend Linda Holliday reportedly went through a messy split in the summer of 2023. If TMZ’s timeline is accurate, that means the breakup would have been two years after the six-time Super Bowl champion coach met Hudson. While that does not mean Belichick and Hudson were romantically involved before Belichick’s split from Holliday, the timeline does not look great as it could point to Hudson being a “homewrecker” of sorts.
There are a lot of bad optics with Belichick and Hudson, and the North Carolina coach does not seem to care. Heck, it looks like Hudson may even have an active role on Belichick’s UNC staff in addition to serving as his handler during interviews.
Belichick has never been one to discuss details of his personal life, which is part of what has made the dynamic between him and Hudson so unusual.
