Brady Quinn signs with Miami Dolphins

Brady Quinn

The Miami Dolphins signed free agent quarterback Brady Quinn on Monday after working him out earlier in the day.

Ryan Tannehill is the team’s starting quarterback, but backups Matt Moore and Pat Devlin are battling injuries, so the Dolphins needed some depth. They worked out Rex Grossman and John Skelton as well as Quinn Monday and decided to sign Quinn.

Quinn spent time with the Seahawks, Jets and Rams last season and was placed on IR in November with a hip injury. He underwent back surgery that month and has been recovering. He recently took a broadcasting job with FOX Sports, but he still has aspirations of continuing his NFL career.

Quinn has not thrown a pass in an NFL game since 2012 and is unlikely to make Miami’s roster. NFL.com’s Jeff Darlington first reported the news.
