Brandon Marshall punts ball in frustration during practice

Brandon Marshall resorted to some of his old ways during New York Jets practice on Tuesday.

To be fair, we don’t have much context. That said, Brian Costello of the New York Post reports that Marshall punted a ball over the bleachers in frustration after the offense kept messing up.

Offense having a terrible day. Brandon Marshall just punted a football over the bleachers here in frustration #NYJ

If you immediately thought of the incident back in 2009 when Marshall acted like a child during a Denver Broncos practice, you’re not alone. Marshall was suspended for conduct detrimental to the team after that outburst, and he later ended up getting traded to the Miami Dolphins. You can read more about the incident from several years ago here.

From the sound of it, Tuesday’s “punt” was hardly as bad as that. In fact, the Jets reportedly had to run sprints because head coach Todd Bowles was fed up with both the offense and defense.

Marshall openly rallied for the Jets to bring back Ryan Fitzpatrick throughout the offseason, but the stalemate only recently ended. It will probably take the offense some time to get back to speed after Fitzpatrick missed most of the offseason program.
