Brock Osweiler enters game for injured Trevor Siemian

Brock Osweiler

Brock Osweiler on Sunday saw his first action as a Denver Broncos quarterback since the 2015 season.

Osweiler entered Sunday’s game against the New York Giants as an injury replacement for Trevor Siemian late in the first half. Siemian had thrown a pick-six and injured himself attempting to make a tackle. He was termed questionable to return to the game.

Osweiler entered as the Broncos’ QB after the Siemian injury and went 2 of 4 for 18 yards before the half ended.

Osweiler was drafted by the Broncos in the second round of the 2012 draft. He spent time as a backup to Peyton Manning his first three seasons before seeing regular action as a starter in 2015, helping the team win a Super Bowl. The fine 2015 season helped Osweiler land a $72 million contract with Houston. They traded him to Cleveland over the offseason following a below average season. The Browns too cut Osweiler before the season, leading to his reunion with Denver.

Week 6 marked Osweiler’s first regular season action since rejoining the team.
