Derrick Henry’s uncanny combination of size and speed makes the Baltimore Ravens star arguably the most difficult player in the NFL to tackle, but Cleveland Browns safety Grant Delpit is more than ready for the challenge.
Delpit spoke with the media on Thursday ahead of the Browns’ Week 2 game against the Ravens. With Henry coming off another dominant performance in which he ran for 169 yards and 2 touchdowns against the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night, Delpit was asked about having to tackle the five-time Pro Bowl rusher.
More specifically, Delpit was asked how hard it is to bring Henry to the ground. He had a very blunt two-word response.
“Not hard,” Delpit said with a smirk.

Delpit then elaborated on his mindset about going up against the linebacker-sized Henry.
“We’re playing football, man. It’s tackle football. Somebody’s got the ball, you got to bring him down,” Delpit said.
Delpit put a big hit on Henry when the Browns and Ravens faced one another last year. The fifth-year defensive back knocked Henry to the ground without wrapping up, which is incredibly hard to do. Though, another Cleveland player had started to tackle Henry low when Delpit delivered the hit.
Delpit then taunted Henry with the “too small” hand gesture.

Of course, Delpit also once suggested that the Browns should use a hilarious strategy to prepare for having to tackle Henry, so there is clearly plenty of respect there.
Though he had another huge game statistically, Henry also lost a costly fumble late in Baltimore’s game against the Bills. The mistake helped Josh Allen and company pull off a miraculous comeback. All that means is that Henry will probably be running with even more anger on Sunday, so Delpit had better lock in.
