The Cleveland Browns almost certainly know which player they will be taking with the top overall pick in the NFL Draft on Thursday, but that does not mean they are sharing that information with key members of the organization.
According to Robert Klemko of The MMQB, Browns general manager John Dorsey has already arrived at a decision. However, he is apparently the only person who knows, and that includes head coach Hue Jackson.
Observations about the Browns pick:
1. Only Dorsey *knows* who they'll pick at 1
2. That decision has been made
3. Info to the contrary is disinformation
4. His people aren't telling media his plan; they don't know
5. Hue, who will be coaching for his job, is out of the loop— Robert Klemko (@RobertKlemko) April 25, 2018

It would stand to reason that Jackson has a good idea of which way Dorsey is leaning. As the main person who will be working with the rookie QB, Jackson has obviously been asked for his input. The fact that Dorsey reportedly has not even told “his people” indicates he is simply doing everything he can to keep information from leaking out.
There seemed to be a troubling disconnect between Jackson and Cleveland’s front office last year, especially when it came to the team’s quarterback situation. Dorsey’s decision to not share his final plan with anyone does not mean that disconnect has continued under the new regime.
