Browns rookie hit with 5-game suspension
Cleveland Browns rookie Mike Hall Jr. has been suspended five games by the NFL for a violation of the league’s Personal Conduct Policy.
The league announced the news about Hall on Tuesday, the same day they announced that Von Miller had been suspended four games for violating the same policy.
Hall’s suspension stems from an August domestic dispute involving the defensive tackle and the mother of his child.
Hall allegedly threatened the mother of his child with a gun and got physical with the woman, choking her and pushing her head through a wall. Hall was arrested and charged with domestic violence. He pleaded not guilty.
Hall has been on the Commissioner’s Exempt List, and will not be eligible to return until Week 11.
Hall was selected by the Browns in the second round (No. 54 overall) of this year’s draft. Teams reportedly were surprised that the defensive tackle was drafted so highly given his reported character concerns.
