The Cleveland Browns moved on from former offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey prior to their final game of the season, and they have decided to promote from within to replace him.
Tommy Rees has been named the new offensive coordinator of the Browns, according to multiple reports. Rees was a tight ends coach in Cleveland this year and will remain under head coach Kevin Stefanski in a bigger role.
The 32-year-old Rees will become one of the youngest offensive coordinators in football. He has already put together a solid resume, however, as he was an OC and quarterbacks coach at Alabama and Notre Dame before joining the Browns last year.
Rees played quarterback at Notre Dame from 2010-2013. He was a starter in 2011 and 2013 but lost his job for the majority of the 2012 season after he was suspended following his arrest at an off-campus party.
The Browns went 3-14 this season but stuck with Stefanski. They have the No. 2 overall pick in the upcoming draft and are expected to take a quarterback. Deshaun Watson will likely still be with the team, though he recently had a major setback in his recovery from a torn ACL.
