The San Francisco 49ers released fullback Bruce Miller on Monday, hours after news emerged that he was arrested for assault Monday morning.

According to KTVU, Miller allegedly tried to check into the Fisherman’s Wharf Marriott Hotel on Sunday night and was told it was full. KTVU explains what happened next:

Sources say he returned Monday morning and knocked on one of the guest room doors.

The guest opened the door and informed Miller that he had wrong room.

That’s when Miller allegedly began attacking the guest. The guest’s father, who was also staying in the room, came to his son’s aid, and was also attacked by Miller.

Sources say that man, who is 70-years-old, was punched in the face and suffered broken bones.

Miller fled but was apprehended. Both the father and son were taken to the hospital. Miller has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of making criminal threats, and battery.

KTVU says Miller was at a bar earlier on Sunday and got drunk with some friends. He was described as being “hammered.” He posted a photo to his Instagram account Sunday from a bar:
