Incredible photo of massive Texas high school lineman goes viral
A photo of DeSoto High School offensive lineman Byron Washington went viral Sunday following the Texas school’s 6A Division II State Championship win. It’s not hard to see why.
Washington’s DeSoto squad destroyed Summer Creek 74-14 in Arlington, Texas to win back-to-back state titles — the first time in school history.
Washington, a 6’8″ offensive tackle weighing 380 pounds, was seen in a snapshot manhandling Summer Creek defensive end Kaleb Walker. The scene was an apt representation of the historic drubbing DeSoto delivered in the contest.

Walker isn’t a small human by any measure. He stands at 6’4″ and weighs 215 pounds. But the Summer Creek linebacker looked like a child as Washington held onto him.
It’s also not the first time Washington has drawn attention on social media for his sheer size. The teenager has generated interest on X as both a legitimate football prospect and physical specimen.

Washington was last rated by 247 as a 3-star recruit for the 2025 recruiting class. The burly teenager is favored to go to Texas. He even rocked a Longhorns shirt after DeSoto’s title win.

Texas has high-profile QB Arch Manning expected to be fully ready to take over as QB1 in 2025. Manning himself has reportedly bulked up significantly, but it can’t hurt to potentially have Washington on the O-line to help protect him.
