Carson Wentz issues update on promise to give Jake Elliott his game check
Carson Wentz was wearing a microphone for NFL Films during Sunday’s dramatic win over the New York Giants, and because of that he may have to put his money where his mouth is.
The Philadelphia Eagles posted on awesome clip on their Twitter account Tuesday that shows Wentz pacing the sideline just before kicker Jake Elliott nailed a 61-yard field goal to win the game. Wentz said Elliott would be a “superhero” if he made the kick and vowed several times to give the rookie his game check if it went in.
We had @cj_wentz mic'd up for #NYGvsPHI and, well, just listen for yourself. #FlyEaglesFly pic.twitter.com/jEyB1msn1o

Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk determined that Wentz makes $356,646 per week for the 2017 season when you factor in his base salary, signing and roster bonuses. Elliott, who only signed with the Eagles after Caleb Sturgis got hurt, makes $27,352.94. Needless to say, he could probably find a good use for the extra $300K and change.
On Wednesday morning, Wentz said he and Elliott have worked out an arrangement.
Well that escalated quickly…
but don't worry, @jake_elliott22 and I got this worked out…

Elliott may never make a more impressive kick in his career. If Wentz’s comments on the sideline before the kick went through don’t illustrate how clutch the boot was, perhaps the reaction of Elliott’s parents will. It will be interesting to see how Wentz makes good on his promise.
