Chargers sign former Pro Bowl weapon for Justin Herbert
The Los Angeles Chargers on Thursday got quarterback Justin Herbert a new toy to play with.
The Chargers signed wide receiver DJ Chark to a one-year deal, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. The deal is reportedly worth up to $5 million.

Chark had visited the Chargers a few weeks before eventually signing with the team.
Chark played 15 games for the Carolina Panthers last season. The 27-year-old wideout was first on the team in receiving touchdowns (5) and second on the team in receiving yards (525).
Chark’s best campaign was back in 2019 as a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars. Chark, in his second season as a pro, caught 73 passes for 1,008 yards and a team-best 8 touchdowns. He also earned his first Pro Bowl nod that year.
The Chargers have lost several of their top receiving options from last season.
Chark joins a depleted Chargers wide receiver room that includes Joshua Palmer and incoming sophomore Quentin Johnston. The Chargers also drafted three wide receivers during last week’s NFL draft, headlined by second-round pick Ladd McConkey out of Georgia.
