Andy Reid responds to question about benching Kadarius Toney
Kadarius Toney continues to cost the Kansas City Chiefs with drops and bad mistakes, and questions are now being asked about whether he should see the field anymore.
Chiefs coach Andy Reid was asked if any consideration was being given to potentially benching Toney going forward. Reid praised what Toney brings to the team, but his answer was fairly non-committal.
Asked if he was considering sitting Toney, Reid said, "We’ll see how things go. I’m not down on Toney. He does some good things." … Reiterates he considers him young (24) and adds, "We’re not talking about somebody who’s been in this league a long time."

“We’ll see how things go. I’m not down on Toney. He does some good things,” Reid said.
That is not exactly a ringing endorsement. Reid is not the type of coach who is going to completely throw Toney under the bus, but his patience is certainly being tested at this point.
Toney infamously cost the Chiefs a go-ahead touchdown last week with a very preventable mistake. On Sunday, his dropped pass led directly to an interception. He is actively hurting the Chiefs, and even though their options outside of him are limited, they really might have to make a move.
