Several fans were not happy with this week’s Sunday night slate featuring the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Giants.
The 0-2 Chiefs visited the 0-2 Giants for a Week 3 matchup at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, N.J. The first half was an absolute slog, with thrice as many turnovers (3) as there were touchdowns (1). The Giants scored the lone TD of the half, with the extra point fittingly getting blocked. The score came after the Chiefs missed a 40-yard field goal. New York led 9-6 at the break.
The putrid play on the field had fans complaining about the same thing. Many expressed their belief that the Chiefs games no longer belong in primetime.
Dear @NFL

Please stop putting the Chiefs in primetime games. We want entertaining football. pic.twitter.com/UdsGQ1QKP0
For the love of god, please stop putting the chiefs in primetime @NFL

This team is boring as hell.
Can we boycott the NFL putting the chiefs on primetime?

My eyes are bleeding from this garbage 😂
The Chiefs entered the season with an NFL-record seven primetime games. Kansas City tied the 2023 Buffalo Bills, who had their Week 18 game flexed into a premium time slot.
With Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce, arguably the two most recognizable faces in the NFL, on the Chiefs, it’s not hard to see why the NFL would want the Chiefs on display as often as possible.
However, fans have clearly started experiencing Chiefs fatigue, especially with Kansas City’s lackluster play to begin the season. Two winless teams going at it was not how most football fans wanted to spend their Sunday night. NBC would have been better off flexing in the Eagles-Rams game, which delivered an absurd finish made for primetime.
