Chiefs expecting major suspension for Rashee Rice?
The Kansas City Chiefs are bracing themselves for a major Rashee Rice suspension, at least according to one report.
In a recent appearance on Steve Smith Sr.’s YouTube podcast, NFL reporter James Palmer suggested that the Chiefs are fully expecting Rice to be suspended for his role in a March 30 car crash. Palmer said the Chiefs are bracing for Rice to miss “half the season, at least.”

Previous reports suggested the Chiefs were expecting a multi-game suspension, but that easily could have meant four-to-six games. This makes it sound like Rice could miss closer to eight-to-ten weeks.
Rice is facing multiple felony charges over his role in a high-speed car crash on March 30. He is also facing civil lawsuits from at least two accident victims as a result of the crash.
From a football standpoint, the Chiefs will have some work to do covering for Rice if he misses a lengthy period of time. As a rookie, the wide receiver caught 79 passes for 938 yards and seven touchdowns during the regular season.
