The Bears released safety Chris Harris Thursday, two weeks after he asked for a trade. Harris was a second-team All-Pro last season, but he only played three games this season after hurting his hamstring in the team’s opener.
Harris is a seven-year veteran, so he’s used to the unpredictably of the NFL. He even managed to find a positive from losing his job:

At least the man has a sense of humor. We can’t really blame Chicago for their decision; Harris was burned by Calvin Johnson for a touchdown in the Detroit loss, and he was burned for a touchdown and dropped an interception against Tampa Bay Sunday. Given how many bad secondaries there are in the league, someone will claim him off waivers.
