Former Bengals TE signed to Eagles’ practice squad
The Philadelphia Eagles have added a former Cincinnati Bengals tight end to their practice squad.
The Eagles on Thursday announced that they have brought back veteran tight end C.J. Uzomah.
Uzomah, 31, was a 5th-round pick by the Bengals in 2015 and had a nice career with the AFC North squad. He spent seven seasons with the team and had a career-year in 2019 when he posted 49 catches for 493 yards and 5 touchdowns (all career-high marks).
Uzomah signed with the Jets in 2022. He played in 15 games with the team in 2022 and 12 last season. He suffered an MCL injury last year and was placed on injured reserve.
The Eagles released safety Caden Sterns to make room for Uzomah.

Philly initially signed Uzomah in April but cut him in August. Now they are bringing him back.
The Eagles and Bengals meet in Week 8, which could make for an interesting revenge game if Uzomah were to be elevated to the active roster by then.
