Colin Kaepernick is seeking permission from the league to wear a tinted visor for the upcoming season.
The San Francisco 49ers quarterback has been wearing a tinted visor during training camp and would like to continue wearing it during the season.
“I’m going through that process currently,” Kaepernick said Friday via CSN Bay Area.
Players need to submit requests to the league to wear tinted visors and need to show medical proof that they need it. Kaepernick says a doctor recommended it for him.
The former Nevada quarterback is competing with Blaine Gabbert for the 49ers’ starting QB job. Kaepernick has been hampered by arm fatigue lately.
