Former Las Vegas Raiders head coach Rich Bisaccia has stepped down from his current position.

Bisaccia has served as the Green Bay Packers’ special teams coach since 2022, and also held an assistant head coach title since 2023. On Tuesday, the Packers announced that Bisaccia had stepped down from his current role, suggesting the team did not want him back.

“While we are disappointed to lose a person and coach as valuable as Rich, we respect his decision to step down from the Packers,” Packers head coach Matt LaFleur said in a statement. “Rich was a tremendous resource to me and our entire coaching staff who had a profound impact on our players and our culture throughout the building. We can’t thank him enough for his contributions to our team over the last four years.”

Bisaccia joined the Packers after his lone season serving as the Raiders’ interim head coach in 2021.

In addition to Bisaccia stepping down, the Packers lost defensive coordinator Jeff Hafley, who became the head coach of the Miami Dolphins.

“After taking some time to reflect over the last few weeks, I have made the decision to step down as the assistant head coach and special teams coordinator of the Green Bay Packers,” Bisaccia said in his statement.

Bisaccia, 65, leaves the Packers after a season where the team had some kicking game struggles. He has been highly regarded for his special teams work in the NFL. The Raiders went 7-5 under him after he stepped in for Jon Gruden during the 2021 season.
