The Indianapolis Colts will now need to find a new head coach after Josh McDaniels backed out on them, and it sounds like they are ready for that process.
Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio reported on Tuesday that the Colts had a feeling McDaniels could back out and have three candidates ready to interview.

NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo mentions that Kansas City Chiefs special teams coordinator Dave Toub was a strong candidate for the job and could be in the mix.
Dave Toub was a strong candidate in Indy. Colts now might fall back onto him. Stay tuned. They're regrouping because they were obviously caught by surprise.

There is no way the Colts could have been unprepared based on all the chatter the past few days about McDaniels not being a lock to take the Indy job.
In retrospect, it seems like their tweets about introducing McDaniels as head coach may have been intended to pressure him into not backing out. Clearly that didn’t work.
