Minnesota Vikings star running back Dalvin Cook has been battling a shoulder injury in recent weeks, and he appeared to aggravate it during Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
Cook appeared to be in significant pain while being helped off the field early in the second half. The Vikings quickly ruled him out for the remainder of the day.
Cook had nine catches for 27 yards and three catches for 16 yards receiving prior to his exit. The former second-round pick is enjoying a breakout season with the Vikings, as he has already rushed for over 1,000 yards and scored 13 touchdowns. He has another 503 yards receiving on the year.
The Vikings are in prime position to reach the postseason, so Cook’s shoulder injury will be worth monitoring. He is a huge part of the team’s offense, and any extended absence for him could create huge issues for Minnesota.
