Darrelle Revis played most of the 2015 season with a fairly serious wrist injury, according to a report.
The New York Jets announced on Thursday that Revis will spend two to three months in a cast after he underwent a procedure on his right wrist. A source told Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk that Revis suffered the injury in a Week 3 loss against the Philadelphia Eagles, but he did not realize how severe it was.
Revis thought the pain in his wrist would eventually go away, but it lingered throughout the season. After consulting with a specialist, he learned he had a torn ligament and would need surgery.
There was a lot of talk about Revis having lost a step because he was torched a few times (and mocked for it). While he probably isn’t quite as quick as he once was, it is impressive that the 30-year-old was still able to intercept five passes and make the Pro Bowl while playing with a significant injury.
