Darren Sharper associate: Reggie Bush slipped girls ecstasy

Reggie-BushReggie Bush’s name came up in the Darren Sharper case, though the allegations against the running back are not even close to what the former Saints safety and another man are facing.

Sharper is accused of being a serial rapist who allegedly has drugged multiple women and had sex with them across multiple states. He was indicted on charges by a Louisiana grand jury in December. A friend/associate of Sharper, Brandon Licciardi, has been accused of helping the former NFL safety drug women for the purpose of raping them.

During an interview with investigators last year, Licciardi was asked if he knew of other women being drugged. That’s when he brought up Bush’s name, according to The New Orleans Advocate’s John Simerman and Ramon Antonio Vargas.

Here is what The Advocate reports about what Liccardi said about Bush.

Licciardi recalled running into Bush in the VIP area of a dance venue in Las Vegas. Bush recognized Licciardi as a friend of Sharper, he said.

“OK, um, I was in Vegas about three years ago and um, Reggie Bush put Molly in Champagne. He was handing out Molly on the dance floor to girls. Handing it out. Like giving it to them,” Licciardi said.

“And how do you know that?” asked James O’Hern, an investigator for the D.A.’s Office.

“Cause I saw it with my own eyes,” Licciardi responded.

Licciardi later revised his claim and said he didn’t actually see Bush slip “Molly” which is another name for the drug ecstasy, into the drinks of women.

“No, I didn’t see him put it in the drink. He told me. And he said he was handing it to people, in Vegas,” Licciardi said, adding, “He asked me if I wanted some. And I was like, I don’t do that stuff.”

Another issue is that it is unclear whether Bush gave women the drug without their knowledge, which is a key point.

None of this information means that Bush had any association with Sharper or his ex-Saints teammate’s alleged rape plots. All this means is that Bush supposedly had a lot of ecstasy at a club in Las Vegas and was handing it out. Possession and distribution of ecstasy is illegal, and questions arise about whether women knowingly were taking the drug. Unless Bush was trying to “drug” women without their knowledge — which he probably was not doing as most club-goers know what they’re getting into when offered pills — then all this is is a small hit to Bush’s relatively clean public image. But you almost have to figure someone crazy enough to date Kim Kardashian would also be into drugs.
