DeAngelo Hall: ‘I Would Cut Myself if I was the Front Office’

The Cowboys came back to beat the Redskins Sunday for the second time this season. Both times, the winning kick was set up by a completion from Tony Romo to Dez Bryant on third and long. DeAngelo Hall was the man covering on the plays, and he’s taking lots of criticism for the mistakes. Last time around, he went off on the referees for adding a facemask penalty to the play. This time around, he had nobody to blame but himself.

“It’s frustrating. It’s frustrating, but I can’t point a finger at anybody but myself. The way I’m playing, they need to go and cut me because I’m definitely not worth what I’m getting. It’s frustrating. Hopefully they see something in me and they bring me back next year. But the way things are going right now, I’m definitely not playing up to par.

“I felt like I had a good game up until that point, but when you’re paying a guy the type of money that I’m making, you expect him to make that play. And like I said, two times in a row, I would cut myself if I was in the front office.”

They’re not going to cut him for missing that play (at least they shouldn’t), but maybe they should give Hall some help with the game on the line. Last time the Cowboys converted on a 3rd and 21. This time it was a 3rd and 15, and on both occasions, Hall lost track of Bryant. Dez’s numbers weren’t eye-popping (3 catches for 68 yards), but he made the big play. Maybe it’s karma for DeAngelo after making comments like this and this.
