The Cleveland Browns have lost one of their promising rookies for the day.
Cornerback Denzel Ward left Sunday’s game with a hip injury and the team announced he would not return.

Ward injured his hip in the first half, and it couldn’t have come at a worse time. It left the Cleveland secondary very thin against one of the NFL’s best offenses in the Kansas City Chiefs.
Ward had 39 total tackles and three interceptions on the season coming into Sunday. He had established himself as one of the better defenders of this year’s rookie class, and the Browns will be hoping this won’t keep him out long.. We’ll see if his defensive coordinator-turned-interim coach will be critical of what led to this injury as he was in the preseason.
