DeSean Jackson expected to be fine after breaking finger in practice
DeSean Jackson is hoping to prove to Philadelphia Eagles fans that he can still be the same big-play threat now that he was in his first stint with the team, but he may have to do that with just nine fingers at the start of the season.
Jackson suffered a broken ring finger on his left hand during Tuesday’s practice, Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports. However, the veteran wide receiver is not expected to miss any time.
Minor scare at #Eagles practice: WR DeSean Jackson suffered a broken ring finger on his left hand in today’s workout, sources say. My understanding is he’s not expected to miss time and the team is not concerned.

The ring finger is far less important to catching a football than, say, the thumb, which we saw when a broken thumb kept Julian Edelman out of practice for several weeks this offseason. Jackson can probably just wear a splint for a while and get by.
Jackson spent the last two seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He caught 41 passes for 774 yards and four touchdowns in 12 games last year, and he should provide Carson Wentz with a dangerous deep threat in 2019.
