Devin Booker may have a future as a Secret Service agent.
The Phoenix Suns guard looked more like a member of the National Guard on Sunday when he kept former president Barack Obama safe as the latter sat courtside at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif. Booker was on high alert as his Team Stars took on Nikola Jokic’s Team World during the NBA All-Star Game.
Booker noticed Jokic barreling toward Obama and sprang into action, shoving the 300-pound Serbian behemoth away from the former POTUS.

Booker didn’t even bother to check on Jokic, instead opting to dap up Obama and share a smile with former first lady Michelle Obama. That’s the kind of patriotic fervor NBA commissioner Adam Silver was probably hoping to stoke by pitting Team USA against Team World.
Unfortunately, the revamped format did little to motivate Jokic and Luka Doncic, who both got called out by Anthony Edwards after Sunday’s festivities. Instead, Victor Wembanyama buoyed Team World, which lost both of its round robin contests to get eliminated before the championship game.
Booker and Edwards led Team Stars to glory, as they demolished fellow USA squad Team Stripes 47-21 to win the NBA All-Star Game tournament. Edwards tallied 32 points and 9 rebounds across the title game and two round robin games. Booker finished with 12 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists, and one tackle on Jokic.
