The calls for Moncrief to be cut were immediate. Even former Steelers safety Ryan Clark said something about it.

Moncrief dealt with a broken right finger during training camp and may still be affected by it. The Steelers benched him after his drop turned into an interception and may not be willing to give him more opportunities.
