Doug Baldwin ‘most certain’ Marshawn Lynch is really retired

Seattle Seahawks wide receiver Doug Baldwin does not expect to call Marshawn Lynch his teammate next season or at any point beyond 2016.

Lynch announced his retirement earlier this offseason, but there are more than a few people who believe he could change his mind and return to Seattle or some other team. Baldwin, who is one of Lynch’s close friends, said during a recent appearance on SiriusXM NFL Radio that he is certain Lynch is truly retired.

Baldwin rallied last month for the Seahawks to not allow any incoming players to wear Lynch’s No. 24, but he clearly isn’t trying to keep Lynch’s number available in the event of a Beast Mode return. For what it’s worth, one of Lynch’s other notable former teammates said he would not be surprised if Marshawn changed his mind.
