Eddie Lacy collects bonus for weighing in under 255 pounds
Eddie Lacy has clauses in his contract with the Seattle Seahawks that allow him to cash in if he keeps his weight below a certain number. So far, so good.
Monday was the first day Lacy was eligible for a weight-related bonus. His contract stated that if he showed up to workouts on May 15 weighing under 255 pounds, he could collect an extra $55,000. Apparently the veteran running back did just that.
Eddie Lacy weighed in at 253 pounds today, two below the limit the Seahawks set: now collects $55,000 for it.

Between the weight bonus and all the money he made at his garage sale earlier in the month, Lacy is having a great offseason.
It’s sad that it has come to this, but Lacy has struggled to remain in shape throughout his NFL career. There were reports that he weighed as much as 267 pounds during his free agent visits back in March, so the former Green Bay Packer has obviously been working hard. The Seahawks are hoping the financial incentives in Lacy’s contract will be enough to inspire him to stay on that track.
