Eli Apple leaves game with right knee injury on non-contact play
Eli Apple left Sunday’s New Orleans Saints-Chicago Bears game after injuring his right knee on a non-contact play.
Apple was covering Javon Wims with under a minute to go and slipped in the end zone at Soldier Field. Apple going down allowed Wims to be wide open, and the Bears receiver caught a touchdown to make it 36-25.
Replay showed Apple going down without contact as he appeared to slip on the turf. Apple was grabbing his right knee.
Oh damn, Eli Apple went down and grabbed his knee after this play. He walked off the field slowly! Didn't look good but hoping for the best for him. #Saints pic.twitter.com/3C2UwZTjpX
