ESPN throws shade at Jerry Jones, Cowboys with MNF graphic
ESPN on Monday found the perfect way to take a playful jab at Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys.
A sunlight issue at the Cowboys’ home venue at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, has been one of many unflattering talking points surrounding the team this season. Given the stadium’s unique east-to-west orientation, sunlight seeps through the glass windows and occasionally affects teams driving toward the west end zone.
The Cowboys were burned by the issue earlier this season when wide receiver CeeDee Lamb was blinded by sunlight while trying to make a touchdown catch.
ESPN poked fun at the sunlight controversy with their graphics during the “Monday Night Football” matchup between the Cowboys and Houston Texans. The animation recreated Lamb completely whiffing on a catch due to sunlight blinding him from a living room window. Curtains later blocked out the sun to show Dallas’ putrid 0-4 record at home entering the Week 11 matchup.

Despite the growing backlash, Jones has remained adamant that he has no plans to address the sunlight issue in the Cowboys’ home stadium.
Sunlight obviously wasn’t a factor for Monday’s night game. But a different issue emerged at AT&T Stadium just hours before the Cowboys-Texans game.
