Ex-Browns player has interesting reaction to John Dorsey news
John Dorsey traded several players during his two seasons with the Cleveland Browns, and linebacker Genard Avery was one of them. After Dorsey parted ways with the team on Tuesday, Avery couldn’t resist weighing in — sort of.
At almost the exact time numerous reports indicated the Browns basically pushed Dorsey out the door, Avery tweeted the famous eyeball emoji.

It’s not all that difficult to figure out what that meant. Avery, whom the Browns drafted in the fifth round in 2018, was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles at the deadline this season in exchange for a fourth-round pick. Dorsey is now out of a job, while Avery is preparing to face the Seattle Seahawks in a playoff game on Sunday.
We constantly hear players talking about how the NFL is a business, but they still take plenty of things personally. When a team trades you for a mid-round draft pick, it’s only natural to feel bitter.
Avery has just five total tackles in eight games with the Eagles, so he hasn’t exactly turned into a stud since Dorsey decided to deal him. However, things with his former team appear to be teetering on disaster. You can’t blame him if he is pleased with the way things turned out.
