Ex-Rams WR Deon Long reportedly named as suspect in armed robbery
Former Rams wide receiver Deon Long has been named as a suspect in an armed robbery, according to a report.
Law enforcement sources told TMZ that Long, 26, is suspected of drawing a gun on a man during a Craigslist transaction involving a duffle bag. The alleged victim told police he showed up to sell the bag to Long, and Long pulled a gun on him instead of paying. The former Maryland star is said to have left with the bag without paying.
Police are still investigating the incident, and no charges have been filed.
If the name Deon Long sounds familiar, you may remember him from when he was featured on HBO’s “Hard Knocks” last summer. The ex-receiver was cut by the Rams for violating training camp rules by bringing a girl back to his dorm room, and HBO aired the segment where then-head coach Jeff Fisher informed him he was being released.
