Ezekiel Elliott posts excellent 40-yard dash time

Ezekiel Elliott crop top

There is little doubt that Ezekiel Elliott will be a successful NFL running back. His 40-yard dash time should help confirm that likelihood.

Elliott was officially timed at 4.47 in the 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis on Friday. Though that wasn’t the best mark among the running backs group, it puts the Ohio State product towards the top. Plus, despite not being quite as big as Derrick Henry, Elliott has excellent size at 6-foot and 225 pounds.

Elliott rushed for 43 touchdowns in three seasons at Ohio State. He put together more than 1,800 rushing yards in both of his sophomore and junior seasons, which is nothing short of impressive.

Elliott was especially awesome in big games. He posted 214 yards and two touchdowns against Michigan and 149 yards and four touchdowns in the Fiesta Bowl against Notre Dame. In 2014, he posted three consecutive games of over 200 rushing yards to end the season against competition like Wisconsin, Alabama and Oregon.

Ezekiel Elliott’s 40-yard dash time at the NFL Scouting Combine placed him fourth in the running backs group.

Here were the top 40-yard dash times at the combine:

Keith Marshall (Georgia) 4.31
Tyler Ervin (San Jose State) 4.41
Kenyan Drake (Alabama) 4.45
