Gardner Minshew leaves game with apparent injury
Las Vegas Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew left Sunday’s game against the Denver Broncos with what appeared to be a relatively significant injury.
Minshew took a sack late in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nv., and appeared to be in serious pain as he left the field. Concerningly, Minshew skipped going to the medical tent on the sideline, instead making his way directly to the locker room.
The exact nature of Minshew’s injury was unclear, but he landed hard on his left shoulder when taking the hit.

Slammed onto his left shoulder, common mechanism for an AC joint injury, will also need to check for clavicle fracture. Luckily not his throwing arm pic.twitter.com/T2qdRQBeDf

Backup quarterback Desmond Ridder replaced Minshew with the Raiders trailing 26-19. He fumbled two plays after entering.
Minshew had been struggling before the injury, throwing for 230 yards with a touchdown and an interception. There had been some chatter that the Raiders were thinking about benching him in favor of Ridder, but this is not how they wanted to have to make that change.
